Deserai A. Crow, PhD
Deserai A. Crow, PhD, is Associate Professor of Public Affairs at the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. She researches state and local public policy, including environmental policy and disaster or crisis policy. She also studies communication, stakeholder participation in public policy processes, and the narratives used to influence public policy. She earned her PhD from Duke University and an MPA from the University of Colorado Denver.

Katie Dickinson, PhD
Dr. Katie Dickinson is an Assistant Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health in the Colorado School of Public Health, and a JPB Environmental Health Fellow. Her interdisciplinary research examines how people perceive and respond to risks, as well as the impacts of policies and programs on health and social outcomes. Her research topics have included wildfire mitigation and the COVID-19 pandemic, among others. Environmental and social justice are also a central focus of her work

Elizabeth Albright, PhD
Elizabeth A. Albright, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of the Practice at the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. She researches questions of local level resilience and community learning in response to extreme events. Elizabeth is currently working on projects studying response to disasters in various regions across the US. She has published on response to extreme events, perceptions of climate change, the advocacy coalition framework, and stakeholder participation in state-level regulatory processes.

Andrew Rumbach, PhD
Andrew Rumbach, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Urban Planning at Texas A&M University and the Director of Education at the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center. He researches household and community risk and resilience to natural hazards and disasters, in the United States in India. He is especially interested in how local government planning and decision making shapes uneven geographies of environmental risk. He received his PhD and MRP in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University and BA in Political Science from Reed College.

Rick Devoss
Rick DeVoss is a PhD student in Health Services Research at the Colorado School of Public Health as well as a Senior Professional Research Assistant in the Environmental and Occupational Health Department. He has worked previously in survey design and implementation, data analysis for national, multi-wave surveys, and community participatory research and engagement. He holds a Masters of Public Health from the Colorado School of Public Health and a B.A. from Luther College.

Nathan Jeschke
Nathan Jeschke is a PhD student in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. He has worked on projects investigating mitigation after natural disasters, infrastructure resilience and state responses to COVID-19. He earned his bachelor’s degree in public affairs from Wayne State University.

Manli Zhang
Manli Zhang is a third-year PhD student, as well as a research and teaching assistant at the School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado, Denver. Her research interests include policy process under risk and uncertainty, risk perception and behaviors, and diversity in crisis management. Manli earned her undergraduate and master's degree in public administration at Shandong University, China, and a second MPA degree at Rutgers University.
